UPDATE : I've had these for my office plants for over a year now. I have three going in my pothos and one in my schefflera. They do manage to keep the plants alive when I'm away, and it's the primary source of water for the pothos. The other one though, I haven't been able to get the spike to work and I am always re-soaking and refilling it, and then watering the plant. Some work well and others don't work at all. I took the weights off the tubes after a while because the plastic no longer curls up.I bought these to water my office plants while I'm on vacation. As others have said, I had to weight the end of the tubing so they would stay at the bottom of the water jug. I'm at work and don't have access to much in the way of supplies for creating weights, but I figured out something I hope will work for two weeks. That's why this gets 4 stars. As far as the watering, I don't know but I can check back when I get back to the office to see if my plants are still alive!
