This camera is worth it depending on what you want to use it for. I bought 2 and have to return 1 because the SD card slot doesn't read, there is one in it. Pros: Day and night vision is great. This can be a plus if you want to use it as room lighting at night, but you can also turn it off completely. If you set an alarm for your child's movement, make sure the sound is turned off as it will alert the camera and not the phone. If you're using it as security, a loud, annoying alarm that goes off due to movement can be a good deterrent. It still sends a notification to your phone. Minuses: - The sound from the camera to the phone is very bad. It's still very quiet even with the media volume cranked all the way up. The kit includes a magnetic mount for the camera so it can be attached to a wall or ceiling. However, the camera itself only has 4 small magnet points on the bottom of the camera, and the weight of the camera itself and/or the cable is too heavy to stay connected through the 4 small magnet points on the plate. Disadvantages as a baby monitor: - The app needs to be open on your phone/tablet to see your baby. When it's closed you have to go back and click on the room and it will reappear. - The mute button automatically turns on as a surveillance camera: - If you want to record via SD card (sold separately), the app must be open on your phone.
