Review on 🚰 Barker Portable 5 Gallon Tote-Along Drain Water Tank by Robert Kimble

I chose the 5 gallon gray water tank because I can still lift it when it's full. On a solo hike, I can manage 3-4 days between bowel movements. The tank is fine. Basically it does the job. My main criticism is the lid. I don't think the functionality justifies the $45-$50 price tag. At first I had trouble screwing the lid on tight and not leaking. The rubber washer holding the lid slips out when I tighten the lid. This is important because there are two holes cut into the washing machine: one for the pressure relief valve and the other for draining the water from the hose into the tank. If the washer slips, it means these holes are partially blocked by the rubber washer. As a result, I can't unscrew the lid all the way without interfering with water flow and ventilation. But if the lid is not fully tightened, water will drip out. I've had to endure the dripping from the lid, which is frustrating - I'm trying to avoid contamination or attracting bugs and animals with the smell of gray water. Second, I'm not sure if the pressure valve is large enough. . When the lid is tightly closed, water will flow into the tank very, very slowly, and sometimes not flow at all. Loosening the main cap will allow more air to escape and drain faster (as well as drain water). That tells me the valve isn't doing its job very well. However, I haven't had the problem that others have complained about the valve cover falling off during shipping. It was easy to transport a full tank and emptying is pretty easy too. So that I don't lose the valve cap, I have a small container with "important knick-knacks" in my camper. Others have complained that it's difficult to completely empty the tank, but I haven't experienced that. Overall this is the best 5 gallon bottle I could find so will continue to use it but the design can definitely be improved. especially in this price range.
