I bought this skirt first because I was traveling in a country that sometimes has strict rules of etiquette for women and I needed a maxi skirt that I could carry in a pocket rolled over my pants if needed. It sat in my bag for over two weeks without a wrinkle and still looked beautiful. I didn't have the stretch and slide down issues noted by some reviewers, but I have a curvaceous frame so this may be less of a concern for me. It could also be hand washed/wrung in the sink and dried on the back of a chair and still looked great. The material is smooth and very comfortable. I've also machine washed it since and the hems/seams are still flat (not what some cheaper garments do or twist at an angle). Really good quality for the price. The pleated waist offers more flexibility in terms of length and more or less abdominal coverage. I usually wear a US size 10/12 and bought a size large. I'm quite short so I can fold the belt in half so that it sits at my natural waist and the hem comes down to my ankle (29" inseam). Someone with smaller booty will probably find it longer. I have Bought two more when I got home and solid colors seem to wrinkle more than prints, the material may be slightly different, or the prints may just have fewer wrinkles.
