Review on πŸ”’ Todoxi Faraday Key Fob Protector (2 Pack) – Shield Your Car Key Signal with Faraday Bags for Enhanced Car Security and Protection by Grant Galloway

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Does not completely block the signal. It's not worth it.

Although this is the smallest key protector, it just doesn't block all radio frequencies. I spent 15 minutes testing EVERY square millimeter (including 100% of the roof, windshield, upper and lower body panels, front and back) as well as the entire interior of my car. TO FAIL! He blocked the signal everywhere until I found my car. The sensor is located next to the rearview mirror. I was able to lock/unlock by holding it close to the sensor NO MATTER HOW I oriented or bent the key in the guard. I tried all 4 possible key positions in the case and tried VERY hard to lock properly) but every time I was able to open the door by holding the guard next to the rearview mirror. 100% proof that this only reduces db and is not a real faraday cage. I checked the inside and it turns out they use one layer (or at most 2) of RF blocking fabric very similar to the Silent Pocket material. Whatever they use, it's not enough. A strong antenna outside your home will pick up the radio frequencies, and it doesn't matter where the second thief (who is in front of your car) is. Do not buy. Others that claim it works probably didn't take 10-20 minutes to find the exact spot where it doesn't work. But remember that thieves use high gain antennas. So if you can find a spot outside the car that unlocks, prove the HF is leaving the bag.

Pros
  • PROTECT YOUR CAR
Cons
  • Easily torn
