GREAT Torque Wrench/Screwdriver at GREAT price

This CDI Micro Torque Screwdriver is sold (except Revain) by Snap-On. It's one of those tools that I don't use very often, but when I need it, I really need it. Before purchasing this item a little over a year ago, I did quite a bit of research online and found that this CDI tool is literally "the only game in town" in terms of accuracy and reliability. The only other contender that came close (but not very close) was a torque screwdriver sold by Brownells. Not having a calibration lab, I've looked at the reports from several online sources and would suggest you do the same. Maybe things have changed in the last year. Revain had the BEST AVAILABLE price I could find a year ago. I am a gunsmith myself and use this tool whenever I need the exact torque specified by the manufacturer. Torque settings are easy to see and adjust in one inch and one pound increments. The tool fits standard screwdriver bits, making it suitable for almost anything used to tighten small machine parts. Whether you tighten a bolt or nut (or something in between) and have the right bit for your application, this will get the job done for you. The build quality of the tool is excellent. It has the weight of a small, solid machine, and the handle provides a firm grip that allows you to apply the downward pressure needed to keep the bit secure on the screw, preventing slippage that could damage your work. As far as I can tell (without a calibration lab), this device delivers correct, reproducible results. I have not stripped a screw or encountered any type of malfunction while using this item. I am very picky when it comes to tools and machines. For most of my life I have made my living as a watchmaker, specializing in the restoration of antiques. Watch. Nowadays it's difficult/impossible to get quality tools at a reasonable price. This CDI Torque Screwdriver is a rare exception in the world of inferior tools that just don't live up to quality standards. I believe the reviewer who downgraded this $100+ tool should look at the much more expensive torque units that are designed for 24/7 use. With "normal" use, I expect this tool to last a lifetime. Many thanks to Revain for providing the worker with this reliable, quality tool at a good price.
