Works as advertised, although for me the first one is enabled.

Works as advertised, although the initial turns at the new torque setting seemed to take a few cycles to me before it started clicking at what appeared to be the correct value. Even after numerous permutations between 10 and 15, the "0โ€ marker no longer matches the main number, although after a few more adjustments I was able to reset it to zero. There are a few oddities, but it's durable and I won't be selling it anytime soon.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Nice addition to my tools

I used this product to tighten scope rings on my scope. It appears to be well built and did its job. The torque scale is tiny and it was a bit difficult to interpret the orientation of the pointer on the scale. When I set the torque to zero, the pointer wasn't perfectly aligned with the zero line, so I never had complete confidence in any of the inch and pound settings. The calibration certificate was impressive. I wish I had one along with my two car torque wrenches.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Looks very high quality but hard to tell if it's set up correctly

Looks very high quality although I haven't been able to verify. But it has a problem that I can't figure out how to solve. You use it a bit like an old-fashioned micrometer, by rotating the end so the arrow on the side points to, say, "300" (Newton-centimeters in this case) while the end disc points to zero, and then on turn , say, 25 , so you have 325 newton centimeters. But in my device when I set the end stem to zero the needle is between 300 and 350 and I'm always not sure what the base is.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Volume

High Quality Made in the USA

I originally wanted to get a Wheeler torque wrench but decided to spend some money because I wanted something that would/should last a lifetime. I have a Wheeler screwdriver and a set of bits (no torque) and a couple of the flat head bits broke off during use (possibly from over tightening, but still). The CDI driver is great, although I would have hoped for a nicer case for the price. Appearance is not royal blue smooth metallic like the photo. It is a dark blue matte finish with a texture but

but I'm glad I chose this one

It was a bit pricey because I wanted a screwdriver that I will only use occasionally on my scope but I'm glad that I chose this one. My other option was the Wheeler FAT wrench, but as the name suggests the handle is quite thick and I wanted the thinner wrench to fit better in my hiking bag and it does it quite well. The handle is approximately 1 and 5/8 inches wide and weighs 10.8 ounces. The torque range is listed as 5-40lbf but can be adjusted from 3-48lbf, but I doubt they guarantee it'sโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

  • Useless features

Quality tool - wrench

I bought this to fit a scope to my AR15. After extensive research, I narrowed my choices down to this CDI 401SM (it's basically a slip-on tool) and the Wiha TorqueVario-S screwdrivers. Both got great reviews, but the Wiha is โ‚ฌ10 cheaper. Ultimately I chose this CDI screwdriver because it's made in the USA, looks more compact and best of all I don't need a second torque tool whereas with Wiha you need a SEPARATE wand. which you need to insert into the main screwdriver and turn to the desiredโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Simple cam design prevents over tightening and possible damage to components
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Production Torque Wrench (Updated)

2nd Update: 30th January 2013 2 out of 3 units purchased are working well so far. I tested 2 instruments in my calibration lab and none of the instruments had any problems. I also recently bought a 4th to replace the broken one. I raised the rating to 4 stars because I still think it's a good product. All my operators love this tool and now prefer it to their previous driver. Currently 3 drivers are only used by one or two operators so they are not used in the same way as the first one thatโ€ฆ

GREAT Torque Wrench/Screwdriver at GREAT price

This CDI Micro Torque Screwdriver is sold (except Revain) by Snap-On. It's one of those tools that I don't use very often, but when I need it, I really need it. Before purchasing this item a little over a year ago, I did quite a bit of research online and found that this CDI tool is literally "the only game in town" in terms of accuracy and reliability. The only other contender that came close (but not very close) was a torque screwdriver sold by Brownells. Not having a calibration lab, I'veโ€ฆ
