Before When I put this wick in my oil candle, I cut off a 1 inch piece to test by dry burning. The smell and burning told me it was 100% cotton - no filler. The braiding of the wick ensures a good oil flow and leads to a good candle burn. You will see in my picture that the key is to have just a tiny bit of wick above the wick holder - just enough for the oil vapor to rise above the holder. The oil candle in my drawing has been burning for about 24 hours. (after a few days) without having to feed the wick. I do not burn the wicks like artificial and filled wicks.
