Review on ๐ŸŽฎ Petforu Version Handheld Console 3.5 Inch: Ultimate Gaming On-The-Go by Mark Howard

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good but needs edit

In the world of affordable portable emulators, this device is very popular because of its build quality. And it's really fun to play. It's solid/heavy, and its D-Pad, buttons, and analog sticks feel great. That being said I have some issues with it. I bought 2 RG351Ms about 5 days apart and returned them both because the backlights were annoyingly leaking out in several spots on the left edge of their IPS screens. I thought it was a bug that only occurs on the first purchase but found the same issue on the second purchase and have since read online that this is a common occurrence due to the way the console is built. This is only really noticeable when there are dark images on the screen (like the Anbernic logo on a black background). Some posts on the internet recommend just accepting it. Several people have posted how to disassemble the console to fix this issue. However, this is something I disagree with on a $150 handheld. Other points of criticism: The IPS screen has a rather low resolution, especially compared to the RG350 and RG351V, and the aspect ratio of 3:2 is only good for the GBA emulation. All 4:3 format systems such as NES, SNES, TG16, PS1, etc. require framing for accurate emulation on that system. This loss of screen real estate makes a small image even smaller. If you can solve these screen problems, the system is great. I understand why people love it. It's fun to play with and copes quite well with the 8-32 bit era, which I need a retro bag for anyway. In addition, it has good support from independent developers creating improved operating systems such as ArkOS or 351Elec. Retro Game Corps makes really helpful guides for this online. I'm a big fan of the Anbernic RG351V because it gives you 4:3 aspect ratio for retro gaming, better resolution and no light leak. Unfortunately, there is no metal version of this system.

Pros
  • LATEST VERSION: RG351M contains a TF card with built-in games (about 2534), and you can expand the TF card to a maximum of 256GB.
Cons
  • Some little things
