I broke my ankle this summer and had to have a scooter. So . to try and make a crappy situation a little fun, I "tricked out" the scooter. Plus.no matter how polite I attempted to be and said "Excuse me" to pass someone in the grocery store - no one would push their cart out of the way so I was forced to stand there and WAIT while they took 15 minutes to purchase Cambell's soup! I'm a patient person and hey.I get it, getting lost in thought but come on people! This bell was easy to attach, young, old & everyone in between could hear the bell. I even had to ring it when someone threw their car in reverse but chose not to look back to see if the coast was clear - even they heard the bell. Some received the dinging as - oh excuse me - others.well, not so much. That's okay. The bell rings on a "thumb pull down method" so it might be a tad much for a child to learn to bike and use the bell at the same time. However, when they have mastered that - this bell is awesome!
