It's great for kids! We received another set of spirographs and it was awful! An adult had to stop the thing from moving to keep the spirals from slipping under the frame. With this set there are no such problems! It can be used without the help of an adult. He is durable. Children can use it alone without anyone else holding it. The gears slide well on the rails. It's thicker, which makes the job easier and allows you to pick up the pieces easily. Easy to clean, wipe with a damp cloth and you're done. And you can use any fine marker or pen with this set. My only complaint is you can't get refills! Yes! And the included markers are not washable.
