Don't take chances with power tool parts and accessories

Broke down on first use. Worked well for dry sanding from 180 to 400, but wet sanding was too hard. Also, the soft pillow felt a bit cheap. I don't know how to describe it. It's like it has too much flex, but it's not quality foam that flexes evenly. I had a Bosch reverse osmosis dual action sander prior to my Festool and those sanding pads seemed like good quality, but this one just seems like cheap stuff. The way it curves or something doesn't give me much confidence that it will contour well and make a good finish. And when you're working 20 hours on a piece of furniture and the final stop is sanding, you need to be able to rely on your tools. Don't get me wrong, I find Festool overpriced for their pads. My Bosch seals are $14 each and are very good quality but that suggests that for $25 even a fake should be great but it isn't. FWIW, the reduction in holes compared to the Festool doesn't seem like a big deal, the dust extraction was still good. But I will replace it with the original Festool Pad. Going cheaper just isn't worth it. All in all, after spending $520 on a grinder, what's another $100 worth of good pads (hard and extra soft)?

Pros
  • Power tool parts and accessories
Cons
  • Long delivery time
