Hello! I've owned this device for pretty much exactly a year and a half plus a month the other day. Today is the last day :) I'm so relieved it's over now and I'm looking for a way to celebrate! No, I am not crazy. I'm just a pet owner. I keep many pets. Three dogs (including a Dane) and three cats. Okay, maybe I'm crazy after all. But remember pet owners, this vacuum cleaner is being sold to us. It features a motorized attachment for picking up pet hair that cheaper bagless canisters don't have. And we love bagless devices because we fill five vacuum bags with pet hair for every person who does this in a pet-free home. Ultimately, I chose this device for these reasons. It was value for money with a motorized brush head and bagless container from a reputable manufacturer, GOOD REVIEWS, at an affordable price. That was pretty rare in 2018 and I'm sure it's still happening now. (If not, you're in luck because you have other options!) But the problem became apparent as soon as I received the device. Another thing to note is that I am surrounded by many beautiful LONG HAIRED ladies. This is my wife and my three stepdaughters. I love them so much, I really do, but they shed as much as dogs and cats! (Oh, GAWD, please don't tell them I said that.) The device arrived and I, the gadget geek, was so excited to make it work. But I always read instructions. This increases anticipation and saves me a lot of trouble if I start on the wrong foot. And then came the disappointment. He was brand new and I didn't get past the first room before he stopped using the same pet hair he was supposed to be able to handle. Yes. You'd think I've left my house dust-free for two weeks while I waited for the new one, but I ALSO have a Kirby (yes, I have - a venerable war machine) and might well move with the times. , due to many pockets. Of course it must be something I did wrong. But I took it apart and found that the hairs on the powerhead wiring were stuck in the vacuum hose and forming enough clumps to stop the airflow. They say bagless vacuums never lose suction - and some do - but let's face it. There is no way to remove air and debris from a clogged hose. No, there was no suction. You can feel it with your hand or hear the whistle of the bypass valve on the dirt tank. It opens when hope runs out to keep the vacuum cleaner motor from overheating while the hose is clogged. This became my ritual for the next year and a half, up to now. Every time I use the vacuum - and I mean EVERY TIME, I CAN'T SHOW IT IN ENOUGH CAPITAL LETTERS - I had to take a canister, a hose, a nozzle (and sometimes even a vacuum cleaner body) with me. myself!) into the garage and, you won't believe it, a VACUUM CLEANER with my Shop-Vac! Hose, filter, power head, canister and all that. (And I would have to push the broomstick through the hose to clear clogs.) How often do you expect to vacuum your vacuum? Every time you use it? In fact, a vacuum cleaner is a hard-working machine that lives in the dirt and will soon be clogged. Therefore, they need a good cleaning and filter change from time to time. Several times a year. Monthly. Hell, once a week! But EVERY TIME you use it? No thank you. When you feel my blood boil, you see the picture. It really is that bad, and I'm not exaggerating for some literary pomp. However, it took me half a year to get rid of it. After all, it wasn't cheap! And I always thought I would learn more about it every time I use it. I better assume his problems. Don't give up yet. And I went so far as to leave it in the garbage disposal at least five times on Monday. But I gave in. it's such a waste. But today. TODAY! The rest of my life started today. After going through the "hoover" ritual THREE TIMES today, I took this thing to my garage for the last time. And when I got there, I thanked him for his service and crushed him. I smashed it with a three pound sledgehammer to NEVER give in to the temptation to give it another chance. And you know what? When I was done, I wasn't upset that I "lost control". And I wasn't upset about losing nearly $200. No, I was THANKFUL! I was thankful that this episode was over and I can move on. I don't feel bad anymore because I hate this thing for taking so much energy and sanity out of my work and wanting to get rid of it. NO, REALLY, I'm not crazy! No longer. He is no more. And now I can rest. Pet owners and hepaticas-with-people-with-long-hairs (if that's a 'thing'): this vacuum really isn't for your needs. I wasn't expecting Kirby. I was looking for something to use between uses of Kirby that would pick up hair and debris that would just take up room in the vacuum bag. Instead, I have to breathe in endless clouds of dust from the vacuum cleaner in my garage. PLEASE don't let this happen to you. Be healthy, clean and happy.
