I bought this to expand my network and put the printer in a room with no computer or network. Works - custom software on PC works. I couldn't get the WEP protection to work (it only supports the old version of the standard). Initially I connected it to two printers: HP LJ 5p via parallel port and HP Photosmart 1100 via USB. Both worked fine. The parallel port feature was the reason I bought it, most devices are USB only these days. I don't have talkback (so I can't see toner levels, ink levels, etc.). I had to uninstall Photosmart because the print server seemed to have some kind of buffer overflow problem when printing large color photos (I got 1/2 page and then started spewing garbage). But HP 5p works fine (not all!). Small and easy to set up, does not support the latest security features, discontinued product (no firmware updates available), does not support "standard" 54g security options. I bought it cheap and it does what I need - we can print wirelessly from a laptop.
