3 waterproof zippered storage compartments. Each branch is a different size. The two smaller compartments have a horizontal zipper running from the top. The largest compartment has a zipper that runs across and then down to form a large triangular opening. This compartment easily holds a 20 ounce bottle of Gatorade. This bag is roomy enough but narrow enough to stay out of the way while cycling. It fits all standard full-size men's bikes. I had problems mounting my 17 inch hybrid bike. Due to the smaller frame, the top tube of the bike runs steeply downwards. The bag easily passed the derailleur cage by at least an inch. However, the bag was squeezed onto the water bottle holder. I bought another water bottle holder that was half an inch smaller. They were both sized for a 20 ounce bottle. With the new package, it barely touches the cage, with no recess. When I put the bottle in the cage, the cage expands and squeezes the bag a bit. But I think that's a minor thing, and since I like the bag otherwise, I decided to leave the bag alone. Incidentally, another reviewer complained that the shoulder straps felt rough and that she thought the straps might scratch her paint. I think the reviewer is wrong. The rough side of the straps is the Velcro side that stays on the outside. The inside of the straps is smooth and shouldn't cause any problems, the straps are long enough to fit most bikes and are very easy to cut with scissors. I removed about two or more inches from each strap.
