I've been thinking about buying a smartwatch for a long time. If you look at the different options on the market and worry about the hassle of charging them frequently. Having previously had a Garmin GPS (Forerunner) running watch, I was very familiar with Garmin and found it VERY reliable. So I decided on a Garmin Venu. The watch exceeded my expectations. It's VERY EASY to use, reliable, and has pretty good battery life. The downside is that listening to music will drain your battery badly, but unless you run marathons regularly this shouldn't be a problem. You can use GPS and listen to music at the same time. You can get a really trendy watch with a lot of bells and whistles for twice the price, but first ask yourself WHY you need a smartwatch. If you just want a watch that lets you work out, monitor your heart rate and blood oxygen, and listen to music while you run, then get the Garmin Venu. If you want to show your friends your coolest gadget - and can't walk a single mile - then spend $500-$600 or more. In the appendix, I recommend that you buy a protective cover for it. Costs around $10 and helps save your investment.
