Great little watch with GPS!

Bought for GPS tracking of bike rides and the rest is basically extra. Some things are hard for the watch, like tracking my breath when I'm out of breath from strenuous exertion. Also, I'm impressed with how well it works. Even items like Body Battery, Stress and VO2 Max are useful to understand. Overall, the watch and app are easy to learn, use, and set up. Very good.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some little things

Meets my needs - Smartwatch

I love this watch. It has a good display, built-in music, built-in GPS and 5 to 6 days of battery life, touchscreen and wake-up gestures. Full disclosure, I don't use GPS or sync my watch to my phone. So I probably have more battery life than the average user. Also, I always charge my watch while showering, so I haven't run into a situation where the watch actually dies. Still with Amoled touchscreen, music and GPS. You're lucky you get 2 days of usage on other devices.

Ultimate FitBit Killer

After burning some Fitbit Ionics and Versa 3, I tried the Venu. Venu is way better at everything including the tracking software. In fact, I'm very careful about tracking my steps, workouts, and overall health, and didn't want to give up my FitBits. I'm an active, middle-aged male who works outdoors, drives, hikes, lifts weights, etc. Venus is durable and apparently waterproof. I only take my tracker off to charge, so waterproofing is a big deal. I had two - Fitbit Ionic and Versa 3 - and they…

Inaccurate heart rate monitor and software bugs reduce overall cost

I bought a Garmin Venu that was 'upgraded' to replace the Fitbit Charge 2. It has a lot more bells and whistles than the Charge 2 and was far better at detecting my workouts. However, the Pulse Ox was consistently inaccurate (by 7-9 points) and the sleep tracking software (Garmin Connect) was buggy (it kept deleting deep sleep minutes (ranging from 1 hour to several minutes)). It's a great looking device and initially I was happy with it until I lived with it for a few days and found it buggy…

  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Not reliable

I use many more features than I thought I would.

The screen does not always light up on shaking or wrist position. Requires double tapping with other hand > Inconvenient. The sleep tracker features (sleep stages, time) seem to be accurate for the most part. The accuracy of the heart rate measurement is up to about 140 beats per minute. Also, it just doesn't pick up (compared to my Wahoo/Bryton/Garmin with a chest strap). The GPS works just as well as the main units mentioned before, but using the GPS drains the battery much faster: I find…

Great watch for people with an active lifestyle.

I personally found it difficult to choose between Venu, Vivoactive 4 and FR245. By the way, these are all great watches. If you're serious about running (and you run quite a bit) I recommend going with the FR 245, otherwise I don't think you'll notice much of a difference between the three. If you want to extend your watch's battery life a bit with a beautiful AMOLED screen, Vivoactive 4 is the right choice. I literally couldn't tell any difference between the Venu and the Vivoactive 4. I love…

Pros

Cons
  • communication with the seller

I've been thinking about buying a smartwatch for a long time. If you look at the different options on the market and worry about the hassle of charging them frequently. Having previously had a Garmin GPS (Forerunner) running watch, I was very familiar with Garmin and found it VERY reliable. So I decided on a Garmin Venu. The watch exceeded my expectations. It's VERY EASY to use, reliable, and has pretty good battery life. The downside is that listening to music will drain your battery badly…

Great fitness watch

This is my first fitness smartwatch so I have a limited set to compare with the Venu. What I can tell you is that I like my watch: + They are beautiful and bright; I can easily read it in the sun.+ Glass is durable. If it was my phone the screen would break 5 times + now. The training program is excellent. I've lost 25 pounds in four months since I started working with a trainer. As I run them, getting cues on the next step in my workout is new to me and incredibly helpful.+ They do what I want
