Update: So after my last check I found that it stopped working, turning on and off when I try to use it , and does not always appear when I unfold the tip. I've tried a new dough that gives the same results; Previous Review: I am looking for a thermometer to demonstrate how to check calibration for my class and also as a class gift; It was calibrated but their battery died so I added my own. I prefer a thinner tip so I can test a few others before making my decision. I've decided to keep it, but I'm still looking for the best quality for my class; I've also noticed that it doesn't always work, when I open it it turns on out of the blue; This will be a throwback
