Gasare mats are perfect for my kitchen use. I use them to protect counter surfaces, under the coffee pots and to cover the gap between the stove and counter. The stove is electric and so far I have seen no heat affecting the edge of the mat but I am always cautious and watching. Now I need a 3 x 6 foot sheet to cover a part of my island. They are sound deadening too. When I set a cup on the counter the sound is soft and not annoying. The 1.4mm thickness is perfect. not too thick and not too thin for my usage. These would be great to use under fabric sink mats as well. The clear is not totally clear but has a cloudy appearance but does allow my Formica countertop to show through.
