It's been so long but WOW! This was the BIG result for my home studio! A great singing buddy of mine advised me to get a dynamic mic for home recording because it's better than condenser mics for vocals in reverberant rooms (I also have a Rode condenser mic). After this purchase, I may never need my condenser mic again! The price is TOP! I heard about this microphone from a YouTube podcast. The original dynamic mic I wanted, the Samson CS mic, was discontinued, with the exception of the Revain (where it cost 3x the original price), so I had to do some digging to find a good alternative. Unlike my Zhiyun Smooth purchase, I did my research before putting any money into the Revain virtual counter. After seeing many reviews, comparisons, and unboxing videos, I decided it was worth a try. When it arrived everything I needed was in the box. I have an interface, so I used an XLR cable instead of USB (note: I didn't plug my headphones into the headphone jack on the mic either). Immediately after plugging it in, I checked the sound and was pleasantly surprised! I didn't expect the mic to be so clear. I could use this mic for more than just recording if I could find a cable long enough to travel to gigs with. This mic broke my misconception about dynamic mics (which I thought sounded the same). A DEFINITE ESSENTIAL FOR YOUR HOME STUDIO, be it music production or podcasting.
