The lens, as many have already noted, is excellent. I came across Fuji about a year ago while taking the xt10 for a trip. Included was a zoom 18-55. I have an FF setup, a Pentax k1 with a range of primes and zooms including a Tamron 70-200 2.8. I was so impressed with the Fuji that I couldn't sell it after the trip. Later I got xt2, then this lens. In the meantime I've also bought a 35mm F2 and a 27mm 2.8. I needed a small system for travel, outdoors and casual photography. So buying this lens wasn't what I initially planned as it's huge and heavy. However, I figured if I tried it and it worked well, I could get rid of my FF setup. To be honest, it's hard to imagine going back to the crop system. This lens has convinced me that I can do it! It's a bit heavy but well balanced on the xt2. I've taken hundreds of photos with this lens and the xt2 and compared them to those taken with my FF and Tamron. my conclusion? I don't lose much, if anything, by photographing Fuji. In fact, wide open, this lens is much sharper and focuses more accurately. Since I don't have much time to do much SP (other than shooting a friend's wedding for fun), shooting Fuji with this lens is very satisfying. I've been considering a 56mm for portraits, but with this lens I don't think I'll buy it anytime soon. So with this lens I'm ready to give up my FF. Fuji's small mirrorless body with excellent low fixed values and excellent 18-55 is excellent for everyday, street and travel photography. With this lens I can do other more serious things. This lens helped me decide and soon my FF rig will be complete! It is so good.
