This product is PAPER. If you need a seat, you'll need a rolled cattail or something else if you can find one. We submerged it in water but it broke. As you know you need some water on the fiber to make it flexible. Next we tried it dry. It was difficult to use. It looks thicker than the original Spey and size 6/32 is the recommended size for our chair. The first photo was an original impulse from our broken chair. The next 2 fibers replace the paper. Photo 2 is the tear I made, it ripped like a paper towel. Photo 3 shows size 6/32 of this product. if you hope to replace the bottom of the chair, do not put it in water and definitely do not soak it. You need to keep this paper fiber DRY and twisted tightly so it doesn't unravel. At this point I don't think it will hold up like the original fiber. If this spare floor gets wet, I think it's toast.
