I needed a backlight for a Chromebook without a keyboard backlight. On paper, this product sounded good - and it works as advertised. Unfortunately, that's all that's good. Now for the bad news: 1. There is no on/off switch or dimmer. Once connected, it is activated. The only way to turn it off is to unplug it from the USB port. Also, it gets very hot, like it's an incandescent bulb instead of an LED.2. Too short. Plug it into the side USB port (on a Chromebook) and try bending it to light up the keyboard and it wants to come out of the port. Despite its seemingly flexible, rubberized construction, it also doesn't want to bend or twist.3. As with 2, depending on the orientation of the port, the light will be "on the wrong side". Strangely, because it doesn't want to bend or twist, there's a right side and a wrong side.
