I installed them in my daughter's room and not only was able to do it myself but found it very easy. We made sure the wall we installed it on was thoroughly washed and dried. Clips are included with installation to ensure it stays in place if some areas seem to be loosening. I mounted them on their wall and they have a stick on them but I also screwed them on just in case. When it says 40 feet long, you really get a 40 foot strip of light. We were able to connect these lights to their phone and as long as they are connected when using the app the lights will only turn on or off through the app. Not only can it emit bright white light, but also change colors on it. When we were developing the app, we both had a lot of fun playing with it. However, if she doesn't want to use the app, she can use the included remote control. Using the app, we found that when the music is on, the lights work to the beat of the music. It was really fun to install in her room and we found it best to figure out where to install before removing the back, which is a lot easier.
