The walls of the cubby holes are soft sided propped up with poles and are sturdier than they seem. The surface texture is nice. The dangle toy is secured by elastic string that was quickly ripped off by the cats and is now just a floor toy. The rest of the structure is solid and sturdy. The pedestal edges are soft like a pillow and the cats really seem to enjoy it. Overall, good buy.
