Great - replaced my four 2GB boards with 4GB boards up to a maximum of 16GB. There are no problems installing and starting. One interesting thing about my Dell Optiplex 990 is that the memory slots are not stacked. The first block has one slot with white end clips and one with black end clips. The same on the 2nd bank. It turns out that the 2 banks with white clips are banks 1 and 2 and the 2 with black clips are banks 3 and 4. So on my motherboard the banks are physically 1, 3, 2, 4. Also FYI . , first I only tried 2 of the 4GB boards and had no idea the banks weren't contiguous so I put them in slots 1 and 3 leaving the existing 2GB boards in 2 and 4 and it booted anyway. no problem, although success in mixing and matching board and bank sizes depends on board and bios, but I've never had problems on any of the PCs I've mixed memory sizes in. Just note that they all run at the speed of the slowest board.
