Review on πŸ”Œ Carter P4389: Finding Optimal Performance with In-Line Electric Fuel Pump by David Herrera

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Out of order with the switch open windings

Installed on my cabin cruiser Chris-craft. He died just a few hours later. I took it off and as the 12vdc motor would not start I mounted it on my lathe and cut the crimp to take it apart and inspect the motor. After removing the rotor and checking the windings with an ohmmeter, I found two open circuits creating a dead zone such that if the motor stopped there it would never start again. It was also found that the rotor was significantly offset from the gap leading to the vane pump. Poor quality control on this machine. upset.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
