What I like about this timer is that it's big. First, because we can see it from a sufficient distance. Secondly, one is less likely to get lost in the hustle and bustle of our day. Being able to place it on or attach it to a magnetic surface is also very convenient. This allows me to hook up a timer to the fridge when we're not using it. The kids know where he goes when they're done with him, so we always know where he is. I was concerned that ticks might be too distracting to use during our homeschooling, but kids don't seem to notice them at all. The alarm clock is loud enough that we can hear it from across the room but not too loud to make you jump out of your skin when it goes off right next to you lol. Of course, I LOVE that it doesn't require batteries. No matter how much we use it, we would keep buying batteries. It only requires a simple wind to set it up. Because of this, be sure to wake him up completely before setting the desired time, otherwise the alarm will not sound when the time is up. We've only had this visual timer for about a week and have already learned so much from it. We use it literally every day. From screen time to brushing your teeth, cooking and housework. This is truly a game changer for families with young children who are still learning the concept of time. No "Mom, how much time do we have?" My kids themselves pull out this timer and set it to their allotted time. They enjoy using it and their willingness to get things done has even improved. I think giving them the ability to measure time visually was key. That being said, I would highly recommend this timer to anyone with young children. As a family of 7 we strive to manage our time as efficiently as possible, but adding a visual component has really helped our children manage their time more independently. This has really transformed our home and I'm so glad we found the perfect timer for us!
