Review on Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice Arctic 195/60 R15 88T winter by Stanisaw Krlak ᠌

Cool product, happy with the purchase, maybe I'll buy it again.

Auto Chevrolet Cruze, 205x60 16. On asphalt, these tires perform well. You drive them confidently with heavy braking, you can hear how the "scratches" crunch, the car stops quickly. I don’t feel the track, it doesn’t allow drifts and drifts. On ice, it behaves almost like on asphalt, there are no drifts or drifts. The noise level will suit me, it is average, but at a speed of 120 km / h there is such a noise, as if you were not in a car but on a Boeing, and now there will be a lift off the ground. I don’t know about soft sidewalls, there were no precedents. You drive confidently on these tires like in summer, but if there is “dry snow” mixed with sand on the road, the car starts to yaw and the ABS is activated when braking, it skids the stern on such snow. ABS in winter is evil, where the car will stop in such a snowy mess is unknown. Without ABS, this behavior of these tires can still be tolerated, you can predict where the car will stop with an accuracy of half a meter, but there is no way with ABS. We have to slow down to snow porridge, but at any speed in this porridge, the ABS still works. On the previous Nokian hakapelita tires (still Finnish), the same car braked confidently in such snow without connecting the ABS. At the service station they say that this rubber does not push snow well because of the tread pattern, which is why it behaves so badly in snow, slips in it. When buying tires I was warned about this. Would you take this tire now? Probably would take something cheaper, for example Gislaved. In general, on asphalt and on ice, the rubber is not inferior to hakapelite, a little uncertain in slush (dry with sand). you need to adapt but after adaptation you can ride confidently. All spikes are in place, the core is intact, the metal around the core is crumpled and scratched.

Pros
  • Holds the car well on asphalt and on ice.
Cons
  • Doesn't do well in loose snow.
