The key is in my Toyota Corolla. The key didn't come out. However, he would turn around. So I drove for a few months with just the key in the ignition. Then one day the car wouldn't start. I thought it was the starter. The key turned, but the car would not start. So I bought it for a fresh start. It came in the 1st. So I replaced it. Needless to say, I didn't turn the starter on. The car starts fine. The exchange takes about 5 minutes. This can be done by anyone who has no experience with cars. Unscrew the 2 screws around the steering wheel. Then one below. Remove the bottom cover. Then turn the key to gem. There is a trigger which you can see below. Insert a small screwdriver into the knob and pry out the entire cylinder. Then insert a new one and you're done. The key has a slightly different shape and the original Toyota key is carved from it. For me it was just great because I had two identical Corollas. Now I do not confuse the keys.
