Review on 💨 OCZ Technology 256GB Agility 4 Series SATA 6Gb/s SSD: Fast Read Speeds up to 420MB/s and 85K Max. IOPS by Chad Chavez

Ordered twice on September 7th and received on September 13th with Super Economy Shipping. Couldn't resist the low price of $54.99. I was aware of the issues with the drive before I bought it and figured I could either return it or RMA it back until I got a good drive if I had any issues. The first thing I did was search the OCZ forums for more information on the latest firmware. OCZ has released version 1.5.2. After downloading the OCZ toolkit I was able to confirm that both drives came with this version, so I hope this is a FW quality issue and not NAND. Here are the release notes for 1.5.2. Improvements since version 1.5: Improvements: *Improved data integrity algorithm *Improved overall stability and compatibility with older chipsets Note. After upgrading to version 1.5.2, you cannot go back to version 1.5. Formatted the drive with a 4K block size and ran the initial AS-SSD test (note: the drive is connected to a SATA2 controller, so performance will be much slower). Nothing exceptional except for a fairly low 4k read IOPS of 3577 vs 17106 write. With Windows 7 and the latest AS SSD 4 stars for value for money and no DOA as some others have reported. I'll update this review (and review) if I run into problems later (or better if it stays stable).
