I bought these lights for my dartboard for the extra lighting and also because if I want to dim the overhead lights I still have great target lighting. I bought them because they are 4000K which I think would be better than 3000K for great white light. I am very happy with the brightness and hue of the white light. At first I was going to only use one, but decided to use both to really light up the objective! (I just noticed in my picture that I need to move the lights around the board a bit) Both lights work with the same remote control. I installed the lights in the ceiling joists. The light is very adjustable. I was also pleased that, in addition to the different light settings, the entire lamp rotates 360 degrees on the base. I probably won't change the direction of the light often, but if I want to use the color change feature and rotate the light to the right above my pool table, I have that option. I had them not long ago, so I can't speak to the overall battery life. Replacing the batteries is easy: to get to the lights, simply use the step stool, which snaps onto the base and can be easily removed.
