Used for Oculus Quest 2 VR - Supports charging

I needed this because the USB-C output on my motherboard was not providing enough power to charge my Oculus Quest 2 while gaming , and I would run out of battery life at worst. I play DCS World so I'll be around for a long time. This card solved this problem, no matter what percentage of my Quest 2's battery is, when I start playing, when I stop playing it's always at 100%. The problem is solved. most of time. because there was a bug in the game i had a lot of stuttering or jittering to the point where it was almost impossible to play and that wasn't happening with the built in usb-c so i knew it was this card. to return this card but then I read that X570 Ryzen motherboards have USB issues but a BIOS fix was in the works. I have an X570 TUF Pro and I downloaded the latest BIOS which fixes some USB issues (BIOS dated March 22, 2021). Installed, and now I'm just nervous every now and then, not enough to distract. A BIOS update seems to have fixed this for the most part and now my quest stays charged while playing and I don't have to worry about it so I'm keeping this card and it has worked for my needs. There is supposed to be another x570 BIOS update for my motherboard so hopefully the new version will fix my jitter completely, but if not I'm fine. By the way, make sure the card is connected to a power source with a SATA cable if you want your Quest 2 to charge.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
