Review on Princess Monaco Teapot Blooming by Teabloom by William Turner

Good technique, I don't like the picture

I bought this teapot because it was the only glass teapot with a handle attached with metal strips that I could find. My mum had what I would say a heavy duty kettle of this design which has been used multiple times a day for over 30 years! I've been using it once or twice a day for a few weeks since I got it and so far so good; does not drip when filling. The glass for this kettle seems very flimsy, so I always place it on a silicone mat, hot oven mitts, or folded kitchen towel and gradually preheat, starting with room temperature water and bringing it to a boil. before brewing tea. I deducted 1 star because the drawing/design is anything but graceful or graceful - more like folk art or something a child would draw; others may like it. However, I highly doubt that a Princess of Monaco over the age of 8 would be interested. However, it's less bright than it looks on the website; What looks black in the photo is actually silver. If the kettle holds up I can paint over the design on the handle and lid and leave the design insert as it is. Aside from the paintwork, the biggest functional improvement would be to add a small lip to the inside edge of the lid to allow the pot to be poured out with one hand without the lid falling off - that would be a great technique!

Pros
  • EVERY CUP OF TEA IS THE PERFECT TEMPERATURE: A simple tea candle is all you need to keep your kettle at the perfect drinking temperature for as long as you need it. The porcelain teapot warmer highlights the blooming tea so no one misses the exciting opening.
