I had about a dozen table lamps. Some proved too large (uncomfortable for the location and purpose), some got too hot, some were too small, some had poor lighting, and others had limited articulation. But this lamp is perfect for me. It has none of the issues that made me a stock lamp buyer. The three lighting colors offer a good range of tones, plus each is dimmable and they're bright, not just less faint. But my favorite feature is the adjustable neck curve. There are no hinge and leverage limitations. It can be easily moved, which makes it possible to steer the focus of the light. It's the right size to provide adequate lighting without being obtrusive. An added bonus (for my use) is the ability to move the light from place to place (snap, turn off - and this clip is really powerful) or just change position as I reconfigure my workspace. It costs more, but let's not talk to the company about it. Not everyone has the same needs, but given the variables this offers, I dare say that it has great features with great customization.
