Anxious to see what my good friend Time Traveler has to say about this! I have a couple of sets of dual doors into the kitchen/dining area and unfortunately the door frame is made of cedar, which is soft. Since these doors are used constantly all day, the hinge screws loosen and eventually the doors bang and the hinges get loose. I EPOXIED the hinges in place and the screws into their holes to prevent that from happening.I know that makes the hinges impossible to remove without damage, but I'll let the next homeowner worry about that. Of course the doors can still be removed as needed by pulling the pin in each hinge.I've used Gorilla Glue many times, but this was my first use of their epoxy. I didn't try to use the doors immediately so I can't say how strong the bond was in just 5 minutes, but there seems to be a strong, permanent bond there now that will last the rest of my life in this house. I know it did set up quickly, however, because I had to mix a new dab of epoxy for each of the 12 hinges. just pressed a little into each screw hole and smeared some onto the wood and onto the back of the hinge, closed it, screwed it tight, unscrewed the next hinge (letting the other hinges hold the door in exact position) . but by that time the 5 minutes had passed and I had a fairly hard glob on the card I used to mix the epoxy. I am optimistic.
