Won't charge iPad through USB hubs

I was able to use an ethernet cable with my new iPad but couldn't charge it with this hub. This was also criticized by other reviewers. This allowed me to use an ethernet cable AND charge the iPad: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QQ11BP6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
