This is a well designed and well made garment. I have a Great Dane which is 38" chest and ordered size XXL for her. It fits very well. My dog is used to wearing a hooded jacket so he had no problem with me putting this coat on him. was adopted as an adult and very shy dog but the collar of this coat is wide enough that I could pull it over my head and it didn't go mad. It's nice not having to open the front. The waist belt is very well fixed with a strong and wide velcro strap (easy to open and close). For starters, I got my dog to wear the jacket around the house for a few hours. When he got used to it, I took it off. He got a lot of praise for letting me dress and undress him. Now he really likes his jacket. It keeps you perfectly warm and dry. A gusset at the shoulder allows for stretching and running. He can go about his private affairs without any problems, in this coat he looks like a racehorse.
