I get migraines quite often and find it very difficult to deal with the pain and associated symptoms. Eventually the pain travels down my neck and I always have to ask my husband to massage it. I was curious and used it when my skin was both wet and dry and I understand why it is recommended to start by moisturizing the area. The vibration is more comfortable and does not "sting" like when applied directly to dry skin. The massager vibrates quietly like you're getting an electric shock in that area, but it's not uncomfortable at all and you end up feeling like the person is massaging you, but BETTER. Finally, this neck massager has an automatic heating function to warm up the area, but you can also use it without the heating function. I personally prefer s. I highly recommend this if you have frequent headaches or migraines. It brought me some relief on the days I needed it most. The only thing I don't like about this product is that it cannot be controlled remotely. It was a bit fiddly to navigate the control buttons while using it, and I prefer to see what I'm pressing rather than just guessing with a touch.
