It was just what I needed! I don't use this to prevent the linens from spilling over the sides. We use Zilla Terrarium Liner and Fleece. The reason I bought this is because I needed something to stop rats from chewing on the rim of the bottom bowl and zilla liners. They love to gnaw corners. This Scatter Guard works great! The Scatter Guard was easy to assemble but I won't lie, I had to bend down a bit and maybe even struggle a bit to get the clips over the edge of the tray but I managed it. I don't take off the stray guard when cleaning. I regularly wipe down the inside edges with baby wipes, and when it's time for a full cage clean, I remove the Critter Nation cage doors and open the bottom shell. I take everything, the Scatter Guard and everything else, into the tub where it gets washed well. I highly recommend this product if you are okay with not removing it for cleaning. I don't think metal will last long if you have to constantly bend it to take it off and put it back on. I've been using the same Scatter Guard for 5 months now and the way I have it set up I see no need to buy another. I highly recommend this product.
