This part is nowhere near OMC specs. The starter bolts are short and the signal bolts are not stainless steel. In addition, the base plate is made of carbon-coated steel. The OEM is made of non-conductive plastic and is held in place by corrosion-resistant rivets. If you do decide to buy a car magnet I would buy it elsewhere for a lot less money. I believe it was used in old Ford Mustangs and other cars. The last thing you want to fail in your boat is the engine in your boat. I would suggest this could be a fire/safety hazard. Buyer warning!
