I upgraded my wife's laptop with a new HD and one I took out for an older one, so I was looking for an inexpensive way to access it and this was the answer. I knew I was going to miss some of the things my wife wanted from her old HD and I didn't want to do that because it really required a lot more cleaning than I was willing to put into days. The new hard drive with a clean install of Ubuntu was perfect and now I can extract files and use these old drives for storage so the $5 I paid for it was less than a flash drive so I have no complaints.
