It was an easy way to see some old discs.

I upgraded my wife's laptop with a new HD and one I took out for an older one, so I was looking for an inexpensive way to access it and this was the answer. I knew I was going to miss some of the things my wife wanted from her old HD and I didn't want to do that because it really required a lot more cleaning than I was willing to put into days. The new hard drive with a clean install of Ubuntu was perfect and now I can extract files and use these old drives for storage so the $5 I paid for it…

Quality SATA cable: SATA cable

I was pleasantly surprised that it came in heat resistant ziplock packaging. If you look closely it has a clutch at the top (shown) and at the bottom when you plug in/unplug the SATA head. Attention to detail really sets me apart from the competition. I needed to retrieve data from two old desktop computers over 10 years ago and couldn't load it from their hard drives. It's 2021 and USB 3.0 is the new meta. Do yourself a favor and grab this to transfer all your drives. Couldn't be happier with…

Allowed me to clone internal HDD to my new SSD

I used this with a 500GB Samsung SSD connected to a USB 3.0 port on my laptop. I could replace the internal hard drive with an SSD and then reinstall Windows using a USB stick with Microsoft's Windows 10 ISO. But then I would have to set up a new Windows installation and reinstall old applications. Instead, I was able to clone a hard drive to a laptop-mounted SSD using Samsung's SSD data migration software. To my pleasant surprise, I replaced the HD internally with an SSD and it worked great…

User friendliness! - Computers and Accessories

My church bought a cheap HP laptop from Costco. It came with a 1TB hard drive, so the speed wasn't up to our standards. So we bought an internal 2.5" SSD and had to transfer all files/data from the 1TB HDD to the SSD. If you use Samsung migration software (FREE), I think the migration time will vary depending on how many files you have on your desktop/laptop. But ours is used strictly for video streaming and editing, so after about 30 minutes this adapter cable did the trick and we were back to

Fits SK Hynix 2.5 SSD

I found that not all cables and software are created equal. I was having trouble cloning my new SK Hynix 2.5 SSD on my Windows 10 laptop. The problem was that I was using a cable (starting with "S" and ending with "brent"), a Sata to USB cable , which was on the label . my new SK Hynix SSD as "S" "brent" drive. A little self-promotion is not the end of the world. But SKH's cloning software is a crazy thing. It wants to automatically find a new SKH SSD before starting the process. So it couldn't

Works great with SATA cables

I connected my old SATA SSD to it after an upgrade and I know I use it as my primary hard drive on my Raspberry PI and he screams at speed. Well what can I say it did exactly what I needed and nothing was asked of me, I just plugged it in and formatted it and it works with no driver issues. on my raspberrypi and its insane speed, honestly a great product. Linux HDparm test below, both connected to the same 16-port USB hub, I was quite surprised by the results of sudo hdparm -Ttv /dev/sdb ; sudo

UPDATED was: Generally fine, but my Linux server dropped USB3

UPDATED APRIL 2021 . When I connect this adapter + 5TB hard drive to a powered USB3 hub with no other devices, the connection is stable. I've tested this with the original 18.04 server + hub and also with a second 18.04 server + hub in a separate location (the hard drive contains my video collection when traveling.) So this adapter is working as intended and I'm upgrading it to 5 Stars. INITIAL OVERVIEW Purchased to replace a failed USB interface in a Seagate USB3 5TB hard drive. This key works
