I bought these to close file folders. I should have gotten 3 mil instead. It's so thick that I had a hard time folding file folders without lamination issues. However they are great for other things like a cover for making napkins etc. The thicker plastic is very durable. I also like that the pockets have a bit of a grip on the inside so I can easily slip a few in and then laminate them. I usually use the smaller 9x12 pouches for the smaller pieces to cut out, but this gives me the ability to laminate larger pieces. Above. I decided, keeping the label flap and cutting a strip in the fold of the binders and then leaving a gap between the front and back of the binder. Thicker bags are strong enough to be "stitched" down the middle without worrying about them falling apart. We have been using the folders every day during therapy since the end of May and there are no signs of use.
