Nostalgia for MAX!

I grew up watching X-Men cartoons and recently introduced them to my kids (all under 10 years old). My kids wanted to be X-Men and this game was released. It went so well with the old-school cartoon that kids got to choose their favorite X-Men for a mission. True, it's all crappy shooting and di-roll luck, but it's simple enough that they can easily play. Getting to the "boss fights" was great as they had no idea the flipped cards offered a far-reaching panoramic view when the cards were combined. I agree that the mechanics are simple and may not have the depth or strategy of other games, or that it's "just an overhaul of Elder Signs". But, you know what? The theme works, it's simple, and it has enough missions and characters to keep it interesting.

Pros
  • Battle across eight unique locations based on major X-Men storylines. Each storyline is filled with different challenges and enemies, which greatly increases the replay value!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
