Review on Fit System 99075 Passenger Replacement by David Sokolov

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Almost smart.: Mirrors and parts

Pros: I got the passenger side mirror back. It cost seven dollars. Cons: First, the fact that the class doesn't quite match my 1991 Saturn S passenger body. The glass is slightly enlarged in certain places along the body contour. This means it can't fit into the plastic part you glue it to like the OEM did. However, this is less of a problem. Have you ever wondered why "objects in the mirror are closer than they appear"? Everything is very simple - the passenger mirror is convex. It has a slight curve. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware of this before ordering. The body in which the mirror is inserted is therefore also slightly curved. Now the single piece of glass that works on both sides of the car can't have a curvature because it has to work on the driver's side. So having a piece of glass that reflects both ways sounds smart but may not work perfectly as the passenger side should never contain a straight piece of glass. Mitte and I used hot glue like a caulking gun to seal the mirror all over. The field of view in this mirror also decreases sharply. It would also look terrible if it wasn't for the 23 year old car. He's been on the road for two days now. If that sounds like a fake solution, it's because I gave it two stars. If it wasn't bulky but still somehow fit into the case, I'd get 3 stars.

Pros
  • Kit includes mounting strap for easy installation
Cons
  • Reliability
