I bought this cable because I have brand new computer parts to build a new computer and it has displayports on the graphics card and my monitors don't have them and have DVI-D. My current graphics card has DVD-I, DVI-D, HDMI and 1 Displayport which I've never used before so I thought I'd buy a cheap Displayport male to DVI-D connector and see if it works because it is in another forum there was no direct answer, you just need to buy an adapter cable converter. Well I can tell you that this cable will work with a Displayport to DVI-D connector, but if you are using a Displayport to DVI-I connector you will need a crossover cable. My graphics card has two display ports, so I will order two more cables. I hope this review and information will help others.
