Review on ☕ Stylish and Durable 1.2L Stainless Steel Coffee Kettle - Gooseneck Pour Over for Perfect Tea and Coffee - Black by Tiffany Harvey

Great value for money, with one minus

I went back and forth between several kettles before settling on this one. I don't have many kettles, but I'm very happy with this one. I've been using it for about a week and I think it's excellent value for money. The only drawback is the position of the ventilation holes in the lid. The three holes are very close to the lid handle. So if you try to remove the lid while the water is boiling, the steam can severely burn your hand if you grab the handle. It can be avoided if you know it, but one day you will inevitably get burned. Overfilling the kettle will cause the high boiling point water to gush out of the spout, but I've found this to be an easy fix without overfilling the kettle. I believe this issue is specific to gooseneck teapots. Even if you don't fill it all the way to avoid boiling in the gooseneck, the capacity is still good/acceptable. I deduct a few points for the incineration. Risk. I think the vents or the handle can be moved slightly to avoid/prevent this issue. I didn't detect any strange smells from industrial oils or paints on first use, but I washed them well before use. Can't speak to durability but it appears to be well made and I expect it to hold up well with proper care! Edit: I slowly crawled through the water, higher, higher, higher. I have found that even with a constant simmer, I can fill this kettle much more than I originally intended without the water boiling out of the spout. The designer positioned the spout vertically/high enough to minimize overflow, which is very effective.
