I bought this to replace the built in WiFi on my Raspberry Pi. The built in adapter works fine, but connecting my Pi to my local Wi-Fi network was a bit iffy. I thought this adapter would work better with an antenna attached to it. That's how it is. It's the only USB wireless adapter that comes close to "plug and play" status on Linux systems. Most USB Wi-Fi dongle manufacturers treat Linux as an afterthought. Panda has taken care to use WiFi chips whose drivers have been included in the mainstream Linux kernel for many years. For the user, this means that you don't need to install any drivers. It's already built in. When I connected my Panda PAU06 to my Raspberry Pi I had a brief flashback to my Windows days when the device immediately started blinking its LED as if to say "I'm talking to the network and you don't have to do anything else." ." Sure enough, when I logged in, the network was up. As a Linux user, this is the best USB WiFi adapter I've found. I have little doubt that other Panda adapters are just as good.
