This iron actually gets pretty hot! I don't know if this is a perceived safety issue or the fact that irons are now plastic instead of metal, but the last few irons I've had just didn't get hot enough to wring out crumpled cotton. Not only does this get the job done, but it also has two vapor settings - low and high, and high for continuous vapor. No more water on what I iron. (An extra step I could do without.) It also has all the bells and whistles - auto shut off, steam release for cleaning, retractable chord, etc. I have to say, the safety warnings in the instructions are getting super ridiculous. Like telling you to empty the iron, turn it off, and unplug it every time you're done ironing, because one thing or the other COULD happen. Does the company really think I'll do this every time? get real July 2nd I'm disappointed because this iron (E250TR) does NOT have an auto shut off. Someone answered the question incorrectly. It has a plastic dial that needs to be turned off every time, and my concern is that it won't keep turning on and off for years. But let's see.
